As an Associate Application Consultant at IBM, you will help us usher clients into a new age of future-looking technology. You'll be assisting clients in the selection, implementation, and support of applications, methodology, and tools. You'll be trained up to perform as an expert on existing and/or new applications specialized around things like Cloud, Blockchain, DevOp, Enterprise Applications, and Mobile. You will help our clients integrate enterprise-wide data for improved performance and efficiency. Leveraging a growth mindset, you're ready and willing to deliver business value, wherever needed. Your ability to accelerate impact and make meaningful change for your clients is enabled by our strategic partner ecosystem and our robust technology platforms across the IBM portfolio, including IBM’s Software and Red Hat. In your role you may be responsible for: Market Dynamics: Immersing yourself in primary research and collaborate with dynamic teams assisting clients in navigating market trends and refining competitive strategies. Operational Excellence: Support operational improvement by designing models for a seamless client experience, contributing to heightened efficiency and effectiveness in operational processes. Stakeholder Engagement: Support workshops, meetings, and interviews to understand and document requirements collaborating with diverse teams to capture and synthesizing essential information. Project Exposure: Gain hands on experience shadowing product teams and enterprise-wide data integrations. Contribute to data analytics assessments and actively participate in cloud migration and system implementations across major platforms. Strong interpersonal skills that enhance collaboration and relationship building, while also managing dynamic workloads in an agile environment. Have initiative and passion to actively seek new knowledge and improve skills while embracing a growth mindset to assimilate diverse viewpoints. Demonstrate leadership experience and ability to communicate effectively through active listening; while also be willing to adapt and have a readiness to take ownership of tasks and challenges. Interest in one or more of the following types of consulting: strategy, application, business transformation, or experience. Exposure to Cloud native projects (academic, personal, or internship count); Agile ways of working (ambiguous requirements, evolving scope); Programming (read, debug, and explain code). Skills/Tech: Programming fundamentals (Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.); SQL Basics; networking basics, Terraform/CloudFormation, Linux fundamentals. Willingness to travel as needed. Preferred major’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, MIS/IT, Computer Engineering, Data Science, SW Engineering, or related fields). Preferred Certifications: AWS Foundational (Cloud or AI Practitioner); Associate, Professional, or Specialty (Aspirational) — in-progress certifications are fine. Other: operational & consulting mindset (translate technical work to business impact); Communication (ability to clearly communicate technical concepts - verbal and written); Professional readiness (comfort in client-facing environments); Passionate about use of AI technology for business advancement; and enjoys experiential learning.
