Your Job: Hardware Verification As an Internship in Hardware Verification, you will help ensure the quality and functionality of IBM's next-generation processors, accelerators, ASICs, and server systems before they are manufactured. In this role, you will:
- Verify complex hardware designs for future IBM server and AI systems in a pre-silicon environment.
- Develop intelligent verification solutions using modern programming languages and automation frameworks.
- Build simulation environments, reference models, test generators, and verification infrastructure.
- Analyze system behavior, investigate issues, and work with design teams to drive resolutions.
- Collaborate closely with engineers from architecture, logic design, firmware, research, and tooling teams worldwide.
- Apply modern DevOps practices to hardware development and verification workflows.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and engineering efficiency.
- Continuously enhance verification methodologies, automation capabilities, and quality metrics.
- Contribute to technologies that support IBM's AI, Cloud, and Quantum Computing roadmaps.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field, with a strong interest in hardware and software development.
- Strong software development skills, ideally in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Knowledge of computer architecture, digital systems, or hardware design concepts.
- Initial experience with VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, or related technologies is a plus.
- Interest in software engineering practices, automation, and DevOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with modern development ecosystems such as GitHub, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud-native tools.
- Enthusiasm for applying AI technologies in engineering and development processes.
- A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate in an international environment. Advanced German language skills.
