We’re looking for a curious, analytical, and technically driven intern to join IBM’s Salesforce practice in a Technical Consultant (Developer) & GTM internship role. This position is ideal for someone interested in software development, system design, and platform engineering — with opportunities to explore a long-term career in Salesforce development and digital transformation. As an Intern, you’ll work closely with our consulting and GTM teams to support solution development, customization, and platform innovation. You’ll gain real exposure to how IBM designs, builds and delivers Salesforce solutions that help organizations transform the way they serve their customers, employees, citizens, and partners. What You’ll Do Learn how Salesforce technology supports digital transformation Learn how AI agents and automation can improve user experiences Continuously build expertise in Salesforce and IBM technologies through hands-on learning and experimentation Design, develop, test, and debug Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWCs), and Flows, leveraging AI tools such as IBM Bob to accelerate delivery and address client business challenges Explore emerging technologies and innovative approaches by building proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and minimum viable products (MVPs) that demonstrate business value and uncover new opportunities Collaborate with consultants, architects, and clients to identify opportunities where Salesforce and IBM technologies can deliver measurable business outcomes Support go-to-market (GTM) initiatives by contributing to solution demos and presentations Capture and codify lessons learned into reusable assets, patterns, accelerators, and internal frameworks that enhance the Salesforce Practice's delivery capabilities What We’re Looking For Curiosity & problem-solving mindset — you enjoy breaking down technical challenges and building solutions Strong analytical thinking — able to understand requirements and translate them into logical implementations Interest in technology & development — especially how platforms like Salesforce enable scalable solutions Attention to detail — able to write clean, accurate code and configurations Team-oriented mindset — enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams Clear communicator — able to explain technical concepts and document your work effectively Growth mindset — eager to learn new tools, languages, and frameworks in a fast-evolving ecosystem Flexibility in commuting — able to travel to IBM and client sites for in-person collaboration as needed Why This Role? This is more than an internship. You’ll gain hands-on experience in Salesforce development, platform customization, and technical solution delivery while learning from experienced technical consultants. This position resides in Toronto and is a 4-month work term commencing in January 2027. All applicants must be eligible to work full-time in Canada and enrolled full-time in an eligible post-secondary program. It is mandatory that applicants return to full-time studies upon completion of the work term. Candidates pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degrees are eligible. MBA and PhD candidates are not eligible for this opportunity.. Skills & Experience Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, or a related discipline Experience developing software using Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar programming languages Demonstrated initiative in identifying business challenges, evaluating risks and trade-offs, recommending solutions, and implementing them through coursework, internships, extracurricular activities, or personal projects Ability to break down complex business and technical challenges into manageable tasks and actionable solutions Ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality work on schedule Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and translate requirements into technical solutions Ability to independently learn and apply new tools, technologies, and concepts in response to evolving project needs Familiarity with GitHub, pull requests, branching strategies, and source control best practices Exposure to designing and consuming REST APIs Experience building PoCs or experimenting with emerging technologies, while collaborating with diverse stakeholders to refine and validate solutions Hands-on Salesforce experience (e.g., Agentforce) through Trailhead or personal projects Ability to take ownership of tasks, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
