Job Description
About the role
We are looking for a recent graduate or early-career Analyst/Consultant with up to three years of relevant professional experience and a strong interest in the energy transition. You will join our growing team of energy market consultants in Rotterdam and contribute to challenging strategic, market analysis and transaction advisory projects for clients in the Netherlands and internationally, in close collaboration with colleagues in the international AFRY organisation.
What you will do
From your first projects, you will help analyse and model energy market developments, model, assess investment cases and translate the findings into clear insights and practical recommendations for clients. You will:
- Analyse energy markets and industry developments using quantitative and qualitative methods, identifying the insights and conclusions that matter.
- Solve complex client problems accurately and translate evidence into practical recommendations.
- Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver work to agreed deadlines, quality standards and expectations.
- Create clear reports, presentations and other materials that make complex messages accessible and compelling.
- Collaborate with diverse, international project teams to develop solutions and support informed action.
- Contribute ideas to project delivery, proposals and business development activities.
- Use approved digital and AI tools responsibly, checking inputs, outputs and underlying sources for accuracy.
- Build trusted relationships with colleagues and clients while continuously developing your sector knowledge and consulting skills.
Qualifications
What you bring
- An advanced degree, or equivalent relevant experience, in Business, Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Up to three years of professional experience; relevant internships or project experience are also welcome.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English (and preferably Dutch).
- Independent thinking, initiative and a commercial mindset when working to budgets and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to contributing to an inclusive, supportive team.
- Willingness to work from our Rotterdam office two to three days per week,
- A valid EU/EEA passport or an existing work permit for the Netherlands at the time of application. Please note; we are regrettably unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
