As a PHY Cellular Firmware Engineering Intern, you will join a team responsible for the development of PHY firmware features in 4G-LTE and 5G-NR. In this role, you will (1) define features and requirements, (2) explore and propose concepts and algorithms, (3) develop and simulate models to validate robust functionality and performance, and/or (4) contribute to power- and area-efficient implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. degree program in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Availability for 6 months or longer.
- Solid foundations in signal processing and communication theory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid grasp of engineering mathematics, including linear algebra, probability and random processes.
- Experience with C/C++ and/or Python for algorithm development, modeling.
- Strong teamwork spirit, respect for diverse viewpoints, ability to effectively communicate (in English) and work with a globally located team across different time-zones.
- Eagerness to learn new things and take up new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- In addition, candidates with strengths in one or more of the following areas will be given preference.
- Familiarity with embedded firmware development for cellular PHY, including real-time constraints, DSP/vector processors, and hardware/software co-design.
- Familiarity with cellular communication standards, in particular 4G-LTE and 5G-NR RAN1/RAN4, including PHY procedures.
