Application Developer - AWS Cloud Modernization

As an Application Developer for AWS Cloud Modernization, you will act as a developer for Legacy Modernization Solution delivery, utilizing software development fundamentals and assets, tools, and the garage method for cloud. You will collaborate on solution delivery, leveraging your experience in building Modernization architecture solutions from legacy platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Develop Modernization Solutions: Design and implement modernization architecture solutions from legacy platforms, including mainframe, iSeries, Solaris, and VAX/VMS, using continuous modernization, co-existence architecture, refactor, containerization, APIs, microservices creation, language conversion, and database conversion. • Map Components to AWS Services: Utilize your experience working on AWS to map existing components and functionalities to AWS-specific services, ensuring seamless integration and effective solution delivery. • Apply Garage Method for Cloud: Apply software development fundamentals and assets, tools, and the garage method for cloud to deliver high-quality solutions. • Understand Application Components: Demonstrate a good understanding of application components, including System of Engagement (SOE), System of Insight (SOI), System of Integration (SOI), and System of Records (SOR), to inform modernization solutions. Junior professional with expertise in AWS services focused on cloud application development and integration. Experience supporting and implementing solutions using AWS Lambda for serverless processing, Amazon SQS and SNS for messaging and asynchronous communication between systems, and API Gateway for publishing and managing APIs. Knowledge of containerized environments using Amazon EKS (managed Kubernetes), including application deployment and basic monitoring. Experience with relational databases on Amazon RDS, performing queries, basic maintenance, and application integration. Ability to work in agile teams, assist with troubleshooting cloud applications, monitor deployment pipelines, and contribute best practices for scalability, availability, and observability in AWS environments. Familiarity with microservices concepts, system integration, and event-driven architecture.
