About this role
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology. As an Associate at IBM, you'll work with clients to help solve real-world business challenges through technology, innovation, and consulting. From day one, you'll gain hands-on experience on real client projects while receiving professional and technical mentorship, career coaching, and access to certification opportunities. At IBM, AI is part of how we deliver solutions, accelerate development, analyze data, automate business processes, and help clients solve complex business challenges. You'll also develop the consulting, communication, and collaboration skills needed to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams throughout your career. As an Associate SAP Technology Specialist at IBM, you'll help organizations operate, secure, analyze, and continuously improve the enterprise technology platforms that support critical business operations. As part of our SAP practice, you'll gain hands-on experience working with enterprise systems used by organizations around the world. Depending on business needs, your technical skills, academic experience, and career interests, you may develop specialized expertise in one of three areas: SAP Basis & HANA Basis – Enterprise Systems: Support the technology infrastructure behind SAP applications, including system configuration, monitoring, performance, availability, databases, integrations, migrations, and application operations. SAP BW/HANA – Data & Analytics: Help develop and support enterprise data and analytics solutions involving data modeling, data integration, ETL, reporting, analytics, SAP BW, HANA, and modern data platforms. SAP HANA Application Security – Cybersecurity: Help protect SAP applications and enterprise data through security configuration, identity and access management, role-based access controls, risk assessments, compliance, and security monitoring. No two projects are exactly alike. You could support clients across industries including healthcare, financial services, public sector, retail, manufacturing, energy, consumer products, and more. You'll work side-by-side with experienced SAP specialists, developers, data professionals, cybersecurity professionals, architects, and consultants while learning how enterprise technology supports some of the world's largest organizations. You do not need previous SAP experience to get started. Many associates join IBM with a foundation in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or another technical discipline and develop specialized SAP expertise through structured learning, certifications, mentorship, and hands-on client experience. We're not looking for SAP experts; we hire for technical potential, curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a passion for learning. During your first year, you'll build technical expertise, develop SAP skills, contribute to client projects, strengthen your consulting and communication capabilities, and establish a foundation for long-term career growth at IBM. To give yourself the best opportunity for success, we advise applying only to roles that align with your skills and experience, rather than applying broadly across all entry-level positions.
