As a Back-End Developer Generalist, you will work in an agile, collaborative environment across software architecture, understanding both front-end and back-end concerns, while specializing in the back-end. You will develop a broad understanding of client-server architectures, networking protocols, application development, and databases. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Assist with Database Development: Participate in planning, analyzing, designing, and constructing databases, and learn to implement industry standards and best practices for database security. • Learn Programming Languages: Engage with programming languages like Ruby, Python, Java, Node.js, and server-side JavaScript, and explore their applications in back-end development. • Support API Development: Contribute to the development of RESTful APIs and web services, and assist in understanding user and system requirements. • Explore Query Development: Learn to develop structured query language (SQL) queries, back-end database stored procedures, or NoSQL queries, and understand their role in database management. • Participate in Agile Methodologies: Observe and participate in agile methodologies, collaborating with team members to deliver solutions. • Exposure to Programming Languages: Familiarity with programming languages like Ruby, Python, Java, Node.js, and server-side JavaScript, with an understanding of their applications in back-end development. • Basic Understanding of Database Concepts: Knowledge of database fundamentals, including planning, analyzing, designing, and constructing databases, as well as implementing industry standards and best practices for database security. • Interest in API Development: Awareness of RESTful APIs and web services, with an understanding of their role in meeting user and system requirements. • Curiosity about Query Development: Familiarity with structured query language (SQL) queries, back-end database stored procedures, or NoSQL queries, and their role in database management. • Exposure to Agile Methodologies: Participation in agile methodologies, collaborating with team members to deliver solutions, with a focus on understanding the principles and practices of agile development. • Familiarity with Cloud Platforms: Exposure to cloud-based technologies and platforms, such as AWS or Azure, can be beneficial for back-end development. • Knowledge of Containerization: Understanding containerization concepts, such as Docker, can be useful in managing and deploying applications. • Exposure to Testing Frameworks: Familiarity with testing frameworks, such as Jest or Pytest, can aid in writing efficient tests for back-end code.
