At IBM, good design is good business. Join IBM's Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) Design team and help shape the future of AI-enabled enterprise experiences. This almost 12-month internship, starting in January 2027, offers the opportunity to work on products that help organizations manage assets, optimize operations, improve sustainability outcomes, and make smarter decisions through industrial AI and operational intelligence at global scale. Working alongside designers, researchers, content designers, product managers, and developers, and others you'll solve real customer problems, contribute to production software, and build your skills through mentorship and hands-on experience.
- Create user-centered designs, including workflows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Translate research insights into design solutions that address customer and business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Participate in design critiques, workshops, playbacks, and agile ceremonies.
- Contribute to IBM design systems, reusable patterns, accessibility standards, and design best practices.
- Communicate design rationale and user insights through storytelling and presentations.
- Explore AI-assisted design tools and methods to support ideation, research synthesis, content creation, and prototyping.
- Share work in progress, seek feedback, and continuously improve your technical design and impactful storytelling skills.
- Currently pursuing a degree in UX Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Portfolio demonstrating design thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for learning.
- Must be within your 1 year post graduation in January, 2027.
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, or user flows.
- Exposure to user research or usability testing.
- Interest in AI-powered experiences and emerging technologies.
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
- Curious and growth mindset with an interest in continuous skills development
