As an Associate Consultant at IBM, you will work directly on client engagements, contributing to the delivery of digital product initiatives across a range of industries. This role offers the opportunity to build deep consulting and product experience, strengthen technical and analytical skills, and develop as a trusted contributor on client teams. Work experience you could be exposed to: Client Engagement & Problem Solving: Partner closely with clients and delivery teams to understand business challenges and user needs, and translate those insights into clear goals for digital product solutions Digital Product Delivery: Support the delivery of web and mobile digital products by contributing to feature definition, prioritization, and documentation that aligns client objectives with user value Software Delivery Life-cycle & Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, engineers, and consultants across the software development life cycle, participating in Agile ceremonies and supporting delivery from discovery through release Delivery Management & Continuous Improvement: Track progress, dependencies, and risks while applying product thinking and technology awareness to help deliver high-quality solutions and continuously improve client outcomes This role is ideal for early‑career professionals who are passionate about product thinking, consulting, and technology, and are eager to gain exposure working with diverse clients, grow their skills and delivering meaningful impact. This opportunity is based in Toronto and supports Associate Consultant hiring cohorts commencing in May 2027 and September 2027. We are recruiting for both start dates and encourage eligible candidates to apply. Successful applicants must have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution prior to their employment start date. Please note that MBA and PhD graduates are not eligible for this program. Hands-on experience supporting digital products across discovery and delivery, with an understanding of how products create user and business value. Working knowledge of Agile product delivery principles, with the ability to contribute effectively to Agile ceremonies and product teams. Experience creating product documentation, such as user stories, epics, feature definitions, or Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), that clearly articulate user needs, business goals, and acceptance criteria. Analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex product problems into actionable requirements, hypotheses, or delivery tasks. Understanding of user-centered design and/or service design practices (e.g., journey mapping, service blueprinting) and how insights inform product requirements and prioritization. Interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to enhance products, improve user experiences, or drive operational efficiency. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work alongside product managers, designers, engineers, and business stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, including tracking dependencies, risks, assumptions, and progress across features or workstreams. Effective time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced client-delivery environment. Previous experience in a product or consulting role/internship. Experience contributing to a product roadmap, backlog, or project planning process. Exposure to Agile delivery responsibilities, such as presenting in backlog refinement, sprint planning, standups, or retrospectives. Foundational understanding of technical and digital product concepts, including: APIs and systems integration. Web and/or mobile application development fundamentals o Data concepts such as data flows, analytics, and basic data mapping o Software development lifecycle concepts and roles within engineering teams. Familiarity with product, design, and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Figma, Miro, or similar platforms. Exposure to modern technology trends, including AI-enabled product development.
