The mission of the IBM Storage Solutions Team is to engage with strategic ISV and OEM partners that can advance the IBM Storage strategy, expand the marketability of the portfolio, create short- and long-term alignment across solution roadmaps, and drive collaborative go-to-market initiatives. The team will: Engage with the entire IBM Storage brand; including product managers, engineers, technologists, researchers, marketers, sellers, and collaborate with technology partners worldwide. Prioritize and lead strategic client engagements with solutions engineering expertise. Design, build, and operate a world-class, strategically aligned ISV program. Our primary intention is to realize measurable, material, incremental business for the Storage product team through joint, in-market solutions with technology partners. This group is comprised of technology and business professionals who are committed to bringing impactful customer solutions to market based on IBM Storage assets of today and the future. The team will influence our product roadmaps and evangelize everything we have to offer to our partners, clients, and the worldwide market. The Entry Level Storage Client Solutions Engineer is an early-career technical role designed for highly motivated graduates who want to build deep expertise across modern storage, infrastructure, hybrid cloud, and AI-driven solutions. This is not a quota-carrying sales role. You will work alongside senior engineers, product leaders, and ecosystem partners to support strategic solution design, technical validation, and scalable client engagement. You will develop into a trusted technical advisor by learning how IBM Storage solutions power hybrid cloud infrastructure for AI, data-intensive AI workloads, next-generation applications, and mission-critical customer environments. This role is an opportunity to grow into a future solutions engineer capable of driving measurable customer outcomes and contributing to IBM’s broader storage and hybrid cloud strategy. Roles and Responsibilities Support senior engineers in client discovery, requirements analysis, and early technical qualification. Participate in client conversations focused on emerging technologies and challenging solution opportunities, providing research, demos, or technical collateral. Conduct lab validation, proof-of-concept (PoC) setups, solution testing, and basic architectural documentation. Contribute to the creation of repeatable solution assets, including configuration guides, validation briefs, and internal knowledge articles based on client solutions. Support the integration of successful client solutions into broader solution roadmaps and go-to-market (GTM) assets. Assist with operational tasks for partner programs, enablement sessions, ecosystem onboarding, and curated demos. Support the analysis of solution adoption, customer and partner activity, and technical enablement metrics. Technical Skills & Knowledge Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related technical field. Strong fundamentals in infrastructure, distributed systems, or cloud concepts. Enterprise storage or SDS fundamentals (IBM Storage, Dell, NetApp, Pure, Ceph, etc.). Basic knowledge of block, file, and object storage, as well as RAID, snapshots, replication, and performance concepts. Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM). Understanding of containers and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker fundamentals). Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Exposure to data pipelines, AI/ML frameworks, or modern analytics platforms is a plus. Passion for hybrid cloud, storage, and emerging technologies.
