As a User Experience Designer, you will: Contribute to the design of user experiences from concept through implementation with guidance from senior designers Create wireframes, user flows, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design ideas Support the design of AI-powered experiences, including conversational interfaces, copilots, and workflow assistance tools Use AI tools to explore concepts, generate ideas, accelerate content creation, and support prototyping activities Participate in user research activities and assist in synthesizing findings into actionable design recommendations Collaborate closely with Product Management and Development teams to understand requirements and translate them into design solutions Help identify usability issues and contribute to improvements based on user feedback and data Participate in design critiques and collaborative workshops to improve design quality and grow your design skills Contribute to design systems, UX standards, and accessibility best practices Learn and apply principles of trustworthy, transparent, and responsible AI design Present design work to peers and stakeholders, clearly explaining design decisions and recommendations Portfolio demonstrating UX design projects from research and problem definition through final solution Understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methodologies Familiarity with modern AI tools such as IBM Bob, Claude, Copilot, Lovable, or similar technologies Interest in designing AI-assisted user experiences and learning emerging AI interaction patterns Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes using tools such as Figma Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn from feedback Basic understanding of usability, accessibility, and inclusive design principles Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment Ability to work onsite in Austin 3 days per week Internship, academic, open-source, or professional experience in UX, product design, human-computer interaction, or a related field Exposure to AI-powered products, conversational interfaces, or generative AI tools Experience conducting or supporting user research activities Familiarity with design systems and component-based design approaches Basic prototyping experience using Figma or similar tools Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Curiosity about emerging technologies and a passion for creating great user experiences Growth mindset and eagerness to learn new tools, techniques, and domains
