IBM has openings for Hardware Test Engineer interns in our Z Engineering System Test organization to test and provide customer support for hardware and firmware that make up our industry-leading IBM products. We are an elite team of engineering professionals that pioneer innovations for the cutting-edge microprocessors and hardware used in IBM Z Systems. Test Engineers participate in various aspects of the test and support process such as but not limited to Assist in the testing of mainframe hardware components including processors, memory modules, and I/O systems Collaborate with firmware and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless hardware-software integration Help diagnose and resolve hardware issues through testing, debugging, and failure analysis Support lab testing efforts, including hardware bring-up, functional verification, and environmental testing Ideal candidates will possess demonstrated test, and communication skills Contribute to technical documentation for procedures, and test results Fundamental education in hardware, software, or testing Strong communication skills Passion to pursue career path in engineering Growth minded, trusted, team focused, courageous, resourceful, and outcome focused Python coding and scripting • Familiarity with Mechanical Engineering: Exposure to mechanical engineering principles and concepts is beneficial for developing hardware products. • Basic Understanding of Firmware Engineering: Knowledge of firmware engineering concepts can aid in testing and validating components. • Exposure to Electrical Engineering: Familiarity with electrical engineering principles can support the development of hardware and technology products.
