About this role
As an IBM Consulting FutureNow Center Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to help solve real business and technology challenges for clients around the world. This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience that prepares students for a potential full-time career with IBM Consulting upon graduation. As an Intern Package Specialist (SAP Application Operations) at IBM, you'll gain hands-on experience helping organizations maintain, enhance, and optimize SAP-based enterprise systems through technology-enabled solutions. You'll work alongside experienced IBM professionals while developing practical business, analytical, and technology skills that prepare you for a future career in SAP application operations and enterprise consulting. As part of this opportunity, you will be aligned to the following practice: SAP Application Operations – focused on application support, managed services, system maintenance, enhancements, and operational excellence for SAP enterprise environments. Projects may include SAP application support, incident management, system testing, business process improvement, and managed service delivery. SAP is one of the world's leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, helping organizations manage procurement, supply chain operations, manufacturing, logistics, inventory, finance, and business performance. During your internship, you'll gain exposure to how organizations use SAP and related enterprise technologies to improve operational efficiency, optimize business processes, and accelerate digital transformation. No two projects are exactly alike, you may contribute to projects supporting clients across industries including healthcare, retail, manufacturing, consumer products, energy, government, and more. Throughout your internship, you'll collaborate with experienced SAP specialists, business professionals, and technology experts while learning how organizations deliver operational excellence through enterprise technology. During your internship, you may have opportunities to: • Support SAP application operations initiatives that improve system performance, service delivery, and operational efficiency. • Assist with analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and supporting SAP application maintenance, enhancements, and testing activities. • Contribute to SAP application support, incident management, solution validation, and business process improvement activities. • Analyze operational and business data to identify trends, support decision-making, and develop recommendations that improve client outcomes. • Collaborate with cross-functional business and technology teams while gaining exposure to SAP, enterprise applications, and cloud technologies. • Assist with testing, validating, and supporting SAP enterprise solutions while learning how technology enables end-to-end business operations. • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities while building communication, teamwork, and consulting skills. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field Interest in SAP, enterprise applications, ERP platforms, application operations, or business transformation concepts. Basic understanding of how enterprise applications and SAP support supply chain, finance, procurement, human resources, and business operations. Exposure to data analysis, reporting, process improvement, application support, or business problem-solving through coursework, academic projects, student organizations, research, or personal learning. Interest in enterprise software, SAP technologies, managed services, or digital business solutions. Awareness of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and automation, and how they are transforming enterprise operations and business performance. Experience gained through academic projects, internships, case competitions, student organizations, research, volunteer experiences, or other practical learning opportunities.
