Intern Supply Chain Specialist - 2027

As an IBM Consulting FutureNow Center Intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to help solve real business and technology challenges for clients around the world. You'll gain hands-on experience, build in-demand business, technical, and professional skills, and contribute to meaningful projects while learning in a collaborative, team-based environment. This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience that prepares students for a potential full-time career with IBM Consulting upon graduation. As an Intern Supply Chain Specialist at IBM, you'll gain hands-on experience helping organizations improve how they plan, source, manage, and deliver products and services through supply chain transformation, data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and technology-enabled business solutions. During your internship, you'll work alongside experienced IBM consultants, supply chain professionals, data specialists, and technology experts while developing practical business, analytical, and problem-solving skills. No two projects are exactly alike. You could support clients across industries including manufacturing, automotive, consumer products, retail, healthcare, energy, public sector, and more. During your internship, you may have opportunities to:

• Support Supply Chain Transformation: Contribute to projects focused on supply chain planning, procurement, sourcing, inventory, logistics, fulfillment, manufacturing operations, or other supply chain processes.
• Analyze Data and Business Processes: Help analyze supply chain data, identify trends and operational challenges, and develop insights that support business decisions and performance improvement.
• Improve Business Processes: Assist teams in evaluating current supply chain processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing recommendations that improve efficiency, resilience, and business outcomes.
• Apply Technology and AI: Gain exposure to how organizations use Artificial Intelligence, automation, analytics, cloud technologies, and enterprise applications to improve supply chain operations and decision-making.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work with business and technology professionals to understand client requirements, document processes, support solution development, and contribute to project delivery.
• Support Client Solutions: Participate in project meetings, workshops, analysis, testing, documentation, and other activities while learning how IBM helps clients transform complex supply chain operations. You don't need prior consulting experience or expertise in every area of supply chain. We're looking for students with a strong foundation, curiosity, analytical thinking, and a passion for learning. Through mentorship, structured learning, hands-on project experiences, and AI-enabled tools, you'll strengthen your supply chain, analytical, technology, communication, and consulting skills while building a foundation for a future career at IBM. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time Associate opportunities following graduation, based on business needs and individual performance. • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
• Foundational understanding of supply chain, operations, procurement, sourcing, logistics, inventory management, planning, manufacturing, or related business processes.
• Ability to analyze information, identify trends, solve problems, and develop recommendations using a structured approach.
• Exposure to supply chain, operations, analytics, process improvement, or business problem-solving through coursework, projects, internships, case competitions, student organizations, research, or other practical experiences.
• Foundational understanding of how data and technology can support business operations and supply chain decision-making.
• Awareness of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, automation, analytics, and cloud technologies, and how they are transforming supply chains and business operations.
• Interest in supply chain transformation, technology-enabled business solutions, consulting, and continuous learning. You don't need to be an expert to get started. • Exposure to supply chain planning, procurement, sourcing, logistics, inventory management, manufacturing operations, or related supply chain activities through coursework, projects, or internships.
• Familiarity with data analysis, business analytics, process improvement, enterprise applications, ERP systems, or supply chain technologies.
• Familiarity with tools such as Excel, data visualization, analytics platforms, or other business technology through coursework or practical experience.
• Interest in Artificial Intelligence, automation, supply chain technology, business transformation, consulting, and continuous learning.
