SAP ABAP Consultant

As an SAP ABAP Consultant, you will design, develop, and implement SAP technical solutions to support business transformation initiatives. You will collaborate closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-performing SAP solutions. Your key responsibilities will include: Develop and maintain SAP ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows Design and implement RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) objects Work on SAP modules such as S/4HANA, ECC, or other SAP landscapes Develop and optimize ABAP code for performance, scalability, and maintainability Build and enhance integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, OData services, and APIs Support SAP upgrades, migrations (e.g., S/4HANA transformation), and system enhancements Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical specifications Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues Ensure adherence to coding standards, quality assurance processes, and best practices Participate in testing activities, including unit testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to stakeholders Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field Proven experience in SAP ABAP development (typically 3–8+ years depending on seniority) Strong experience in: ABAP Objects (OOP) Data Dictionary (DDIC) ALV Reports, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms Interfaces (IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services) Experience working with SAP S/4HANA and HANA database concepts (AMDP, CDS Views) Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques Familiarity with SAP integration technologies and APIs Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments Hands-on experience with: SAP Fiori and UI5 development OData services and Gateway SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) Experience in SAP implementation or transformation projects (Greenfield/Brownfield) Exposure to industry solutions (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, HR) Knowledge of CI/CD tools and automation in SAP environments SAP certification in ABAP or S/4HANA (preferred) Singapore Consulting Entry Level Singapore, SG Singapore (8340) IBM Singapore Pte.
