About this role
We’re looking for a motivated college student to join the Chief Sustainability Office as a Supply Chain Sustainability Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore how emerging regulations, supplier engagement strategies, and circular supply chain initiatives are shaping business decisions across global supply chains. As a Supply Chain Sustainability Intern, you will: Research emerging sustainability disclosure requirements (e.g., CSRD) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation, and assess potential impacts on IBM’s supply chain, operations, and supplier engagement programs. Assess circular supply chain opportunities and develop recommendations to support business value, supply chain resilience, and regulatory readiness. Use AI-powered tools and IBM technologies (including Client Zero, watsonx, and other analytics platforms) to analyze sustainability data. Participate in cross-functional projects that align sustainability goals with business value creation. Attend internal forums and stakeholder discussions to observe strategic partnership development and sustainability innovation in action. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program (Engineering, Materials Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain, or a related field). Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a passion for data-driven decision-making. Ability to understand and analyze technical concepts related to manufacturing processes, material flows, recycling systems, and supply chains. Interest in sustainability, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices. Experience or interest in using AI, automation, and data visualization tools to drive insights and efficiency. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Highly organized with a proactive mindset and eagerness to learn. No preferred qualifications specified
