Intel's Sort Test Technology Development (STTD) Department is looking for a passionate and driven Software Engineering Intern to join our HDMT Tester Software Development and Validation team in Oregon, US. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Intel's test equipment software — solutions that power Intel's high-volume manufacturing facilities and enable the testing of Intel's most advanced processors.
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be an integral part of the software development lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineers to deliver innovative solutions that directly impact Intel's ability to maintain its leadership in semiconductor technology. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program and be eligible to complete a 3-to-6-month internship, with an anticipated graduation date on or before December 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
Define, develop, and maintain software features for Intel's high-volume manufacturing (HVM) test equipment
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, validation, and ongoing support
Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple geographies within Intel to deliver optimized and scalable software solutions
Engage actively in design and code reviews, contributing to the development of robust and reliable software systems
Identify and implement opportunities for product quality improvement and process optimization, including bug fixes and continuous improvement initiatives
Troubleshoot software and infrastructure components to resolve complex and diverse technical challenges
Leverage AI tools and technologies to drive efficiency improvements across development workflows

Qualifications:
This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. This Position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
3+ months of experience or knowledge:
Working knowledge of object-oriented design principles
Understanding of algorithms and data structures
C# or Python programming
Computer Science fundamentals
Threading and memory management
Systematic debugging skills with the ability to isolate issues methodically
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ months of experience or knowledge in:
AI tools to improve development efficiency
.NET Framework and/or .NET Core
C#, with exposure to Blazor for building web user interfaces
Distributed systems concepts, including design and development of network-based services (APIs, messaging, concurrency, reliability)
Scripting and automation using Python or Windows batch scripting

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $94,500.00-127,800.00 USDThe range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations.
