As a Communications Intern, you will work alongside experienced communications professionals to help create compelling content, support communication campaigns, manage internal and external communications activities, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen Microsoft's brand and culture. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced global technology environment while developing professional communication and project management skills.

About the Programme
The Microsoft South Africa BBBEE Internship Programme offers talented graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop professional and technical skills, and receive mentorship while working on meaningful projects. As part of Microsoft's commitment to skills development, transformation, and inclusive economic growth, interns are empowered to learn, grow, and make an impact while building the foundation for their future careers.
Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and execution of internal and external communication campaigns.
- Create, edit, and publish content for newsletters, intranet sites, presentations, social media channels, and employee communications.
- Assist in developing storytelling assets, including articles, blog posts, executive messages, videos, and event communications.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and communications for company programs and events.
- Conduct research and gather insights to support communication strategies and campaigns.
- Track communication metrics and help analyze engagement data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across business teams to ensure communications are accurate, timely, and aligned to business objectives.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and logistics for communications activities and events.
Qualifications
Programme Eligibility:
- Applicants must be South African citizens and meet the eligibility requirements of the Microsoft South Africa BBBEE Internship Programme.
- Currently pursuing (final year with no more than 6 months remaining) or have completed a Bachelor's degree in the last 6 months in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, Corporate Communications, or a related field.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
