What you`ll do
You'll empower Product Standard Owners and development teams to build secure, compliant software at scale—bridging technical depth with strategic impact. From designing evidence, schemas and enhancing policy workflows to providing CI/CD integration guidance, you'll shape how thousands of SAP developers experience compliance.
This role offers the unique opportunity to influence both the technical architecture of our Policy as Code platform and the organizational processes that drive adoption across SAP. If you're energized by building tools that scale and making compliance seamless—this is your role.
The Role:
- Support Product Standard Owners in creating, adopting, and maintaining central policies that enforce corporate requirements
- Design and document evidence schemas and policy evaluation workflows
- Create measurements for evidence that can be generated and uploaded from SAP’s CI/CD pipeline library Piper or other workflows
- Evaluate evidence using the Open Policy Agent and Rego
- Provide guidance on policy execution in CI/CD pipelines and evidence collection automation
- Bridge technical policy implementation with business requirements through documentation, training, and direct collaboration
- Promote Policy as Code to increase adoption and effectiveness across the organization
What you bring
- Rego & OPA - Familiarity is a plus; we'll support your growth in policy-as-code
- Go - Beginner level is fine
- JSON & JSON Schema - Good understanding required
- Communication skills - Clear and collaborative, fluent in written and verbal English, German language is a big plus
- Proactive & self-organized - Takes ownership and works independently
- Git & GitHub - Comfortable with version control workflows
- CI/CD fundamentals - Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools
- Working from Walldorf office 2 times per week is required, if you are not living in commuting distance your application can not be considered
- We would like to offer the candidate a long term cooperation therefore at least 2 semester of studies until graduation left are required
Where you belong
The Cumulus team builds and operates Cumulus, SAP's internal compliance data store for CI/CD pipelines. The platform enables teams across SAP to verify that their software deliveries meet corporate requirements before going live. Cumulus processes audit-relevant artifacts—test results, scan reports, SBOMs—and offers OPA-based policy evaluations to aggregate compliance status. The team works closely with Product Standard Owners, Security Experts, and development teams across SAP.
Cumulus is part of Hyperspace – SAPs internal development platform that provisions pipelines, manages credentials, orchestrates compliance workflows and much more.
Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
