Participate in a consulting project or strategic initiative and experience firsthand how we help transform clients' businesses through technology, innovation, and effective program delivery. Focus on our clients' technical, business, and user needs to co-create solutions that deliver measurable value and business outcomes. Support project and program management activities including planning, stakeholder engagement, status tracking, risk and dependency management, governance, and delivery coordination. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions while balancing scope, schedule, quality, and stakeholder expectations. Develop an understanding of our clients' future-state goals, operating models, and business processes, then help define the roadmap, workstreams, and leading technologies required to achieve them. Learn about a client's industry, tackle new challenges, and understand how business strategy, operations, and technology intersect to create value. Contribute to workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, solution design discussions, and project governance forums while developing consulting and leadership skills. Join our IBM North America intern community and connect with other IBMers through networking events, team activities, mentoring opportunities, and career development programs. Build foundational skills in leadership, communication, problem-solving, and project delivery that will prepare you for future consulting and program management roles. This position resides in Toronto and is a 4 months work term commencing in January 2027. All applicants must be eligible to work full-time in Canada and enrolled full-time in an eligible post-secondary program. It is mandatory that applicants return to full-time studies upon completion of the work term. Candidates pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degrees are eligible. MBA and PhD candidates are not eligible for this opportunity. Has experience with both business and technology. Can understand clients’ needs and challenges and apply creative and logical approaches to identify solutions. Demonstrate quantitative analysis skills and ability to derive recommendations informed by data and insights. Can work on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines, while maintaining focus in an environment with conflicting demands. Ability to communicate complex situations clearly and simply by listening actively and conveying difficult messages in a positive manner. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals, strengthening relationships to achieve win-win solutions. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools. Experience with banking, payments, or digital assets. A passion for innovative ideas, coupled with the ability to understand and assimilate different points of view. Can translate business requirements into technical solutions. Demonstrate leadership experience and ability to adapt, with willingness to readily take ownership of tasks and problems. Have initiative to actively seek new knowledge and improve skills.
