If so, let's talk. You will join the IBM Z WSC Advisory team that supports worldwide IBM Z and IBM LinuxONE clients, business partners and internal teams. This organization is missioned to guide clients to confident technology decisions by combining rigorous empirical analysis, expertise, and compelling storytelling. The team leverages technology health checks, workshops, economic studies; and performance, resiliency, and capacity insights, to influence both technical and business stakeholders to adopt actionable recommendations. Our subject matter experts, act as trusted advisors and create scalable thought leadership assets that shape client implementation strategies and roadmaps. We are looking for a technologically curious intern, who is interested in specializing in a core mainframe subsystem, with the future goal of developing critical thought leadership. This role is geared to support our WSC Advisory z/OS communications server workstreams, which include areas related to networking, routing and security. As a Technical Enablement Specialist intern, you will gain exposure to enterprise-class systems, IBM Z labs, and real client environments. This role may involve any of the following responsibilities: • Working across IBM z/OS subsystem team to conduct in‑depth analysis of client environments and deliver tailored technical recommendations aligned with industry best practices, enhancing system performance and security. • Coordinate and partner with development teams to address client requests. • Engage with formal support resources to stay informed on client priorities and open issues. • Directly support account teams in their network-specific client engagements. • Help to design and execute communications server enablement workshops for clients and business partners. • Support development of client-facing conference and education materials for IBM Z events (E.g., SHARE, TechXchange). • Assist in the design of comm server-related labs for clients and internal teams. • Support workflow management of incoming projects, utilizing approved project management tools. • Contribute to the development of client education and nurture pathways focused on z/OS Communications Server. • Working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • Written and verbal communication skills • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills • Programming language proficiency (Python, Java, C) • Basic networking and routing knowledge • Familiarity with enterprise operating systems and IT infrastructure • Understanding and experience using AI tools for productivity • Advanced Microsoft Suite capabilities (particularly applications intended for the presentation of content) • Familiarity with project management frameworks and tooling • The ability and desire to collaborate cross-functionally in a large organization • Working knowledge of IBM z/OS • Familiarity with basic mainframe hardware • Working knowledge of Cobol and/or JCL • Client relationship management skills
